Computer lab transformation

Recently the computer lab at my school was remodeled, a kind of out with the old and in with the new. I don’t mean new technology I mean, to a certain degree, the way we learn. In the old computer lab all of the places where everyone sat was designed so that everyone faced the front and could listen to the teacher and there was not much room to move, showing that when the lab was originally designed it was not really a place for collaboration. The computers were close together, the desks couldn’t be rearranged and you couldn’t slide around on your chair. In the new computer lab it seems to be more for a place of collaboration and learning from each other rather than a “the teacher has all the answers and you learn from them only”. I think this is a good thing because a lot of the time collaboration and brainstorming between people can create significant results that a person, on their own, wouldn’t have come up with. I think that this new design is a pretty good improvement over the old one, there is a table in the center of the room for group discussion or projects, there is a lot more room for us students to move around and talk to our other classmates, and there isn’t as much clutter around the room such as wires and old computers that no one uses. Also the tables are now able to be moved so if sometime in the future the lab is changed again then it will be much easier. Personally I think that the new computer lab is better than the old one and will make the learning environment more enjoyable. Now all we need is the 3D printer. Thank you.
