Robots

Hotel run by robots                                                                                                                                            A personal assistant,  a pet that doesn’t need exercise and the staff of an entire store never needing a break. All of those things and more are possible with robots. At first glance robots seem like a great idea, you could have one at work for you on that day you missed, a robot to do your homework or make and bring you food. Those are all nice thoughts so long as we don’t use robots excessively. But the thing is humans are lazy, we don’t want to work although there are the minority who find it fun, most just want to have fun or not do anything at all, and doing nothing is really bad for your health. Robots are beginning to take over our jobs and it is going to continue. There could be ten grocery store robots that are overseen by one person, instead of ten people scanning other peoples groceries. If we aren’t careful robots will take all of our jobs that require minimal work, like a baristas, waiters, clerks, hotel employees, garbage collectors and countless others. Robots would be something you encounter every day and it might get frustrating talking to an emotionless robot, who can in no way relate to your problem, rather than a human being. And teenagers who work at fast food places for their first jobs would no longer be needed and couldn’t earn money. They can also be dangerous, people could hack in to a robot or a whole staff of robots and wreak havoc upon anything they wished, or a robot could go haywire and start smashing anything, human or not, its no difference to a robot. I really do think that robots could be a good thing but only if they don’t take over our lives.

Yes, I know i didn’t talk about a robot take over and its talked about so much now that its cliche. Humans should be able to control how smart a robot gets and seriously build something in to the robot so that with a switch of a button it shuts down. Thank you for reading

  1. Have you ever seen Phil of the future? The Disney show featuring Phil and his family. And they are from the future. Well anyways. There this one episode where he takes a girl to a mall in the future. They go out for lunch and this robot totally makes her fall in love with him. ( The robot.) And this makes Phil angry so he decides to destroy the robot. All im saying is when I was 7, I was terrified of robots. I still am.

This is quite true though. If we aren’t careful we are going to be over ran. ( Stuff is going get to I, Robot serious ) ( the movie with Will Smith ) Once we are all out of jobs, say goodbye to money. No money = no income. No income = No money for rent. No money for rent = no money for food. No money for food = Starvation. starvation= say goodbye to all your little friends.

    1. I’ve heard of it but never watched it. So ya if robots do become so advanced that they are the same as humans and have emotions, then a takeover could be less likely or more, or we could become the robots pets, I don’t know if I would like that or not. But surely the majority or the people with power won’t like that so they would try and destroy robots and then a whole war would happen. And robots will end up taking a lot of jobs from us and creating a lot of unemployment, so I wonder what us as a society would do if that happens.
